Entry Requirements:
- Must be enrolled in a New Zealand Secondary School in years 11 – 13.
- Meet selection criteria as per Gateway process and registration requirements.

MTA accredited sites will decide which option above is more suited to the workplace with the support of a regional pathways advisor.

The four compulsory units must be completed plus either Retail or Hospitality option to complete the Gateway programme
Purpose:
Collaborate with secondary school students and regional MTA to deliver a Gateway workplace experience in a realistic working environment, enabling students to gain a deeper understanding of the industry and earn NCEA unit standard credits, which will be reported to their NZQA record of learning.
Uniform:

As per workplace requirements for steel- capped boots.

If personal protective equipment is required, such as hi-vis and gloves, this will be provided from the work site.

Students need to provide their own black pants, black t-shirt, and black covered in shoes (in the event of sites not requiring steel capped boots)
Delivery Method:
The Gateway programme aims to provide senior students (years 11–13+) with structured workplace learning opportunities.
These opportunities include a formalized learning arrangement set in the workplace, specified knowledge and skills for students to attain, and defined assessment methods tailored to workplace learning.
