Entry Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in a New Zealand Secondary School in years 11 – 13.
  • Meet selection criteria as per Gateway process and registration requirements.

Purpose:

Collaborate with secondary school students and regional cafés to deliver a Gateway workplace experience in a realistic working environment, enabling students to gain a deeper understanding of the industry and earn NCEA unit standard credits, which will be reported to their NZQA record of learning.

Delivery Method:

The Gateway programme aims to provide senior students (years 11–13+) with structured workplace learning opportunities.

These opportunities include a formalized learning arrangement set in the workplace, specified knowledge and skills for students to attain, and defined assessment methods tailored to workplace learning.
